Alexis Turner, MSN, RN, FNP-C

Alexis Turner is an El Campo native, and 2008 graduate of El Campo High School. She attended Texas A&M University where she obtained her B.S. in Kinesiology and Nursing in 2012 and 2015 respectively. While at Texas A&M, she worked as a student manager for the Aggie Softball team for 2 years. She was involved in music ministry at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. She also was a volunteer coach for a homeschool high school volleyball team and volunteered some of her weekends with Magical Muzzles & Manes, where she assisted children and adults with disabilities to have contact with miniature horses and therapy dogs.

In her first year of nursing, Alexis was a part of the first nurse residency class at Memorial Hermann Memorial City, where she worked on the orthopedic floor. During this time, her small group from the residency program performed research in sepsis protocols and decreasing the time sepsis markers were reported to improve patient outcomes. After gaining experience and skills, she returned to El Campo and began working as a night nurse for El Campo Memorial Hospital. Over the past 3 years, she was trained in the ER and ICU before being asked to lead a shift as a charge nurse. While performing her duties as a Registered Nurse for El Campo Memorial Hospital, she attended the University of Texas-Arlington online. She obtained her Master’s degree in Family Care, and currently serves as a Nurse Practitioner at the Mid Coast Well Care Clinic in Blessing. She is a member of the American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Texas Nurse’s Association.

Alexis is married to her husband Justin Turner, who is himself native to El Campo. They currently have two dogs and two horses and are recently parents of a new baby boy.  She is a member on the Wharton County SPOT board and is an active parishioner of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church. She enjoys volunteering her time to help both humans and animals alike. She enjoys fostering dogs for SPOT. She helped spearhead the money-saving initiative where SPOT administers vaccinations to dogs and has taught volunteers to give vaccinations. She treasures the time spent with family, attending Aggie sporting events, horseback riding, and baking.

Alexis provides healthcare at the MidCoast WellCare in the HealthPlex Building in El Campo.
